This Is Hermosa – Terms of Service

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, hateful, harassing, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material or the post clearly meets the terms of "Fair Use." Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason. We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or objectionable will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

Thanks, and hope to chat soon!

Arrow ThisIsHermosa Community Guidelines

ThisIsHermosa Community Guidelines

I wanted to add a few more points to our Terms of Service here. We have a lot of great people posting now, and we've also been getting some new members, so just some reminders:

What to do:
  • Please play nice. We're a community of many types of people, who all may not think what you think or believe what you believe or see what you see. We all have the right to feel comfortable here, so be polite and respectful in your interactions and debates with other members. We're all pretty good at this so far, just saying...
  • Do moderate your content. Everyone needs to take responsibility for ensuring that what you post is appropriate. If your judgment proves to be poor, even after warnings, we'll moderate your account.
  • Since sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is being sarcastic or tryin to be funny (at least until we get to know your sense of humor), do feel free to make liberal use of emoticons. etc.
  • Do send the administrators a complaint if you feel anyone has violated our TOS or for any reason you feel you need to complain about something or someone. The administrator, in case you haven't figured it out, is me.

What not to do:
  • Don’t show nudity or anything else inappropriate for a "family" website in your avatar. If we find you doing that, we’ll remove it and send you a warning. If we find you doing it again, we’ll terminate your account.
  • Don’t upload content that is illegal or prohibited. If we find you doing that, your account will be deleted and we'll take appropriate action, which may include reporting you to the authorities.
  • While it's perfectly OK to vent your frustrations and rant a little here, don't go crazy. Stirring debate is one thing, but ranting until you bore the brains out of other members or scare posters away is not OK.
  • ThisIsHermosa is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we’ll send you a warning or terminate your account.
  • Don’t be creepy. You know the type. Don't be that type.
  • Don’t use ThisIsHermosa (TIH) for commercial purposes. If we find you selling products, services, or yourself through your photostream, we will terminate your account.

In Conclusion:

We’ve created these guidelines and Terms of Service to ensure that everyone within the TIH community has the experience they want. It’s important that everyone understands the importance of moderating their content responsibly.

In most circumstances, we'll give second chances. We’ll send you a warning if you cross any of the community guidelines or violate the TOS, but subsequent violations can result in account termination without warning.

If you ever have any questions or comments, we'd love to hear from you. Please feel free to drop us a line through TIH Private Messaging (in the upper right hand corner of the screen). I'm Marianne.

We all know who we're talking about!

All right, a little ranting is OK. And of course the TOS don't apply to me (just kidding!)

I edited the ranting thing. Is this better?

Joy really is a little sweetheart in person. She's just very passionate about what she believes. Online...sometimes that comes off the wrong way. Good thing we have emoticons. Hey, I think I'll add those to my guidelines.

I just wanted to reiterate that if anyone feels uncomfortable or attacked by comments on this forum, please let me know ASAP, and I will take care of it.

And, ad homs are not allowed. That is, attacking the person who's making the argument (rather than attacking the argument itself) is not cool. I might not always catch them, however, so you gotta tell me either in a private message or in an email to thisishermosa@aol.com.

That is all.
