Default DiVirgilio Responds about New Orleans

From today's ER letters:

While I feel bad for N.O., he's certainly got an excellent point. He is keeping the bigger picture in mind and keeping it fair.

not granting a license out of fear of "opening the floodgates" doesn't hold a lot of weight when they're extending or exanding the licenses of other establishments.

His statement reminds me of this "Think of the message we will send to our children"

Worrying that the pita pit will get a liquor license is stretching the fear factor a bit far. What about McDonald's getting a liquor license??

This thread is outdated, Miles. DiVirgilio has since changed his tune. Well, not changed his tune so much as did a little digging. It turned out that the concerns he had were mitigated by bathroom requirements and other things. Anyhow, he voted yes to give beer/wine to restaurants that close early. So I imagine N.O. got their beer/wine? Does anyone know?
